Silence of the Blog
I am seeking inspiration. I haven’t blogged for almost three weeks. My “pink flowered” journal pages aren’t filling up. I think my creativity is under attack. I need to focus. I need to be driven. The force is missing. The spark that ignites the idea in my head is not lighting up. But, what is it that inspires me? Why do I write?
I wonder why I always pose questions I can’t answer. Anyway, getting back to the point; from what I’ve noticed, people tend to write when they go through a so called “depression phase”. After having drunk their sorrows away thinking alcohol is the solution to all problems, they’d start pouring out their souls on paper. So they are inspired after having got their “kick”. Wow! Boy, am I glad I don’t fall under that category of writers. But I admire writers who are inspired by the beauty of nature, creation, God, other writers & bloggers, science, happiness & joy and of course their life.
As for me, I like to share what’s happened around me in a way that someone somewhere will be inspired, be amazed or even just be aware. It may not be something mind blowing or unique but something that happens every day we just take for granted. It maybe the chirping of the birds or the construction noise of the bull dozer that wakes you up in the morning; but that’s what gets me inking down my thoughts on paper.
My blog silence the past three weeks maybe due to the fact that I’ve been engrossed in reading about the hot vampire “Edward Cullen” in New Moon, convincing people the world won’t end in 2012, wasting time doing “social interview” quizzes on Facebook, gearing up for the Youth vs Young Adults Bible Quiz on Dec 2nd, chatting more to the Aussie folks via skype and of course – trying out new dishes in the kitchen!
Hope something exciting and thought provoking stirs up the writing senses in me the coming days!
