Work your mood ring...

I’m in the mood to write today. But I have no idea what to write about. I attempted a piece about my raging temper and how it’s cool down the past couple of years – but it wasn’t leading to anything. So I thought I’d share my embarrassing situation at lunch in the office this afternoon where I wanted to bury my head and run away, but that too had no ending. Then, I thought I’d post some of my latest “mall fight” incidents, but that would just go on and on. Wonder how I can put my mood to some use.

Moods! We often get so caught up in them we tend to forget about everything else around us. If we are over ecstatic with joy, we maybe laughing to all the good things in life unaware of someone’s misery. But that’s good as it cheers up the poor soul. However, think of it vice versa. What if someone’s joy is being taken away by your misery? Your life maybe a mess, you maybe going through depression or things may be complicated for you but don’t depress the people around you. Use their joy to bring cheering to your life.

Self pity! Everyone wants a piece of it. Put on puppy dog eyes and make the world feel your pain. Let them share in your sadness and shed your tears; you want them to sulk and mourn with you. You want the attention and sorrow from others. But that just sucks. It’s a different case from feeling down and going to a friend for comfort. But to always sit with a moody face that makes others around you feel awkward is super annoying. I hate being in those unwanted moments of uncanny looks and forced silence.

Joy! Portraying a life full of glee cheers up the disheartened one. It’s true you can’t be all bubbly with laughter and joy when someone is down. The point I’m trying to make is when you are feeling down and blue for a small tiff at home or over something someone said – don’t be all long faced and forlorn so that others feel the same way too. Instead act normal. Just be content and see what a difference that makes rather than sulking all the time. You not only bring yourself down but the rest of the happy world too!!

What does your mood ring tell you today? Irritated? Angry? Upset? If it is any of those, do yourself a favour and make a change in that colour!
