Celebrating Jesus - The JOY of Christmas
Ten days back tears
rolled down thousands of people's faces as they watched the news. Beautiful
children's lives were ruthlessly taken away in Newtown , CT , USA . Not so soon after, my heart
truly pained reading about how an innocent girl was so brutally gang raped in New Delhi , India .
This happening
amongst all the hustle & bustle of Christmas totally set the festive mood
off. How do we celebrate whilst so many in this world are suffering? I couldn’t
just understand how these families would get through these traumatic
experiences. I reckon, the only way out is knowing Jesus. Which brings me to
the reason why we celebrate.
It's a fact that the
world is wicked. There is nothing on earth we can do to get rid of it. Yes,
there can be gun control measures & severe punishments to heartless
rapists. But it's not going to completely bring an end to cruelty among the
human race.
However, someone was
born into this world to bring peace to mankind. He was born to save us. To give
us hope in this world filled with evil hearts & minds. He was born so that
we may have life. Knowing this saviour who was born to us in such lowly
conditions heals our broken hearts (Psalm 147:3) . Our God who came into this world so humbly
is preparing a mansion up in the heavens. Why would anyone in their right mind
want to give up the love of Jesus?
Evil in this world is not going to end. The headlines update with more shootings in the USA and the rape cases continue in India . Commit it all to the one who came to bring peace to mankind.
All I have prayed
for this Christmas is that you ask Jesus to be born in your hearts as He came
into this world to save you. There is nothing more He asks for this Christmas
other than room to live in your hearts.
Celebrating Christmas
is the joy of knowing Jesus Christ.
I end this note with
a prayer from one of my favourite Christmas carols – "Away in a Manger".
Be near me, Lord Jesus,
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray
Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to heaven
To live with Thee there
I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray
Bless all the dear children
In Thy tender care
And take us to heaven
To live with Thee there
I Wish you &
your family a very Blessed Christmas.
Spread the Joy of
knowing Christ.
Shining His light,
Ginelle.
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace"
Isaiah 9:6
