Lost in the Middle Of Nowhere

My friends cancelled last minute on a dinner party I was hosting at home because they found an abandoned dog on the side of the highway. No one with solid love in their heart could leave that poor animal in the middle of nowhere. The dogs paws were burned because of the scorching heat against the tarred road. And all it longed for was some love and a drink of water. All animal shelters were closed for the long holiday weekend but my friends opened their doors to rescue this lost soul.

How many people do you know who have been abandoned by someone they once trusted or loved? Maybe it's that teenager who leaves home and forgets the single parent who worked two jobs to pay tuition fees. Or a husbands who cheats on his wife. Could it be that friend who stabs you in the back or a close colleague who brings you down for her climb up the career ladder?

We meet abandoned people daily but we don't take the time to realize. For all you know, you might be the one abandoned and hurt. Have you taken a second glance to see if they are bruised or thirst for that drop of water? Don't expect them to come knocking at your door asking for help. As a follower of Christ - it is our duty to save the lost.

"For the Son of Man came to seek & to save the lost"
Luke 19:10

We are the ones chosen by Christ to stop on the side of lifes busy highway and help heal those broken hearts & bruises. And while we are at it we ought to offer them that drink of water they long for. No, I am not referring to a glass of water. They thirst for the living water.

Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life"
John 4:13-14

So, if you know someone hurting, someone lost along lifes confusing crossroads and has been left stranded in the middle of the desert - Stop! speak life over them, offer them the drink of salvation and bring them home to the Father.

"Never Again will they hunger;
Never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,
nor any scorching heat.
For the lamb at the center of the throne
will be their shepherd;
He will lead them to springs of Living Water
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes"
Revelation 7:16-17

Blessings,
Gino
