Wear Their Glasses
A couple of years back I completed the "Perspectives for Missions" course through my then local church in Sharjah, UAE. Not only did it open my eyes to see the broader picture of the need for missions but also understand different viewpoints. In other words - Perspective.
Too often these days there are frequent arguments, misunderstandings and quarrels between one another. Everything gets blown way out of proportion due to a "I thought" or "We just assumed" attitude. No extra effort is taken in people trying to understand the situation from the others perspective.
Having seen a couple of these issues before my eyes, I have a new found respect for the word "Perspective". All bitterness, grudges and accusations seem to have more meaning if you just try opening your eyes from the others point of view. Of course, we may not agree with how their eyes handle the situation but it draws a border across the issue addressed.
Now this is where I take things a step higher.
Do you see what I see? Or rather, do you see what God sees?
It's the exact something with all our lives. I see people declining in their faith with God because of unanswered prayers, unexpected twists in their lives, continuous hurdles to jump and the list goes on.
They question God.
Questioning Him turns to slow bitterness, anger.
There's now a small wall. A misunderstanding you think?
What they don't see is God has a different perspective to all this. He sees the final bigger picture. He sees the distance our eyes can't see. Instead of walking that path of hardship alone, ask him for help along the way. His eyes know the way through the dark times. He gives light. He is the light. We may not be able to see and understand the path through his perspective but we can be certain of the destination because we live by faith and not by sight. (John 14:6)
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal"
- 2 Corinthians 4:18
As for all those daily misunderstandings and arguments - take a moment to wear their glasses and look at the situation. It paints a clearer picture. Now, be humble and decide how to handle the situation. You'd be surprised to know what a difference their "perspective" does to the so called argument!
Hope this inspires, stay blessed!

"If only I could see it from Your perspective
The beauty and the grace of Your architecture"
The beauty and the grace of Your architecture"
