The Crown

You don't need a professor to tell you we are living in dark times. Just refresh your news app on your phone, have a chat to your fellow neighbours at the local grocer or maybe just skim though the weekly news in your mailbox and its full of heart wrenching affairs. From across the street to across the seas; be it accounts of terrorism to domestic abuse or robbery - it's there. Terrible, Horrible. Heartless. The human heart is darker than ever before. In this day and age, to actually display acts of love, compassion or affection seems too much to ask for.

Yet, in a much more twisted sense - this intelligent species we know as humans claim to obviously have it all and know it all. Yes, they definitely know what they're doing with this thing called "life". However, I believe there is a small problem here - most of them have no clue. And the simple reason being pride. No one is ready to bow down, there is so much difficulty in admitting the three words - "I don't know". They want the throne, the power, the crown, the status and the title. The world does not have the word "humility" in its dictionary.

This Easter I like to share through my post a reminder to being humble. Remembering Christ who is fit to wear a crown of all the jewels but instead was oppressed, afflicted and crucified on the cross. Being sinless - He opened not his mouth. (Isaiah 53:7).  So, even as we celebrate his glorious rising and overcoming the ultimate sting of death - there are millions to whom today is just an excuse to eat chocolate, indulge in meat & alcohol or those who simply don't try to believe because they can't submit to the one who deserves higher praise. They cannot admit to knowledge, wisdom and power in something greater than themselves. In short, the world is theirs and theirs alone.

My prayer this Easter Sunday is that you and I can learn to live a life full of love & humility to one another. Lets dethrone ourselves from our make believe titles and crown Him with many crowns. To the only one who deserves it rightly.

In His mighty & glorious name,
Ginelle :)
