Are you blind or still a kid?
A majority of the people go through that phase in life where the only worry in the world for them is “Where’s the party at?” or “Will there be Jello shots?”. I’d say its somewhere between 18 to 21 when partying, clubbing and getting tipsy is simply rad. I agree, it’s a thrill. To impress guys/girls – you take a shot or two, dance the night away – its life, but just for that period in life. Eventually, you grow up. There are decisions to make, responsibilities lie in your hands and you realize life isn’t about those drinks and guys to impress.
What confuses me is I still see that “I’m forever young” attitude in young grownups now. They are stuck in that phase where they just enjoy being intoxicated weekend after weekend…day after day in some cases. What disgusts me is the “I drink to get high” attitude. How can that be fun when you end up with a sick hangover the next day? If fun is what they want – alcohol must be included. That’s because they need to be high to enjoy all their so called “crazy sh*t”. Pathetic, if you ask me! And lately I’ve also been annoyed by two faced hypocrites. They sit with saint painted faces on Sunday in church and outside they just boast of their “coolness”. Swearing & drunkenness are ok in their world. Don’t know which Bible they read because last time I checked – it was still sinful.
A non believer once told me “It’s ok for you Christians to get drunk because you will repent the following morning!” That’s just wide of the mark, look at that wrongly painted image of our God. So, don’t ruin it. Decide which way you follow. If it’s the other way – don’t pretend to be all holy – God knows and I pray you choose the right path. And you also don’t have to be spiritually blind, remove that blind fold and see the truth...turn away from evil since you know it is wrong, it’s never too late.
Explore other passions and consider alternatives to entertaining yourself during the weekend other than killing your liver. Grow up and lose that “21yr old” within you. It really just brings down your reputation at the end of the day.
Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind." Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, "What? Are we blind too?" Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains." – John 9:39-41

Very well put together.
