Be Inspired
They say every writer needs inspiration. So, I look at what has inspired me the past few couple of days.
1. Unfailingly, God never disappoints me and some how continues to inspire me everyday. Through prayer, worship, admiration in nature, his love, blessings, songs….the list goes on!
2. The condition my Dad is facing. I was shocked. Never knew the pain would be so serious. He is an in patient in the “Hospital@Home” ward for 6 weeks. But he is dada. He never complains and takes it as a challenge. He jokes about his “medicine bag” being his new best friend. And is always more worried about his precious daughters rather than his post surgery bone infection. Dad, you inspire me for your courage & love.
3. Well, his support is in my Mamma! She too puts up with all these challenges never grumbling but always seeing God’s will in it. It sure is a handful for her, but she does it with a smile. How I miss you, mom. You inspire me for your strength.
4. So I was stuck in rush hour office traffic in a tuk tuk in Colombo and noticed some people in wheelchairs waving at me. To see, we were passing a “Home for the Crippled!” They wore huge smiles on their faces and my aunt explained the excitement they feel when the drivers wave back. As I waved back, they inspired me to “smile” and be joyful.
5. Reading testimonies of Brazil's star Midfielder “Kaka”. He is the perfect role model for anyone. He has inspired me by kicking the hope in me that level headed guys committed to Christ still exist amongst the hypocritical ones we come across.
6. The “elle” sisters being split apart in three different nations. It’s not by accident we happen to listen to the same song (From the Inside Out – Hillsong) every morning; it’s the bondage we share as being sisters. No ocean can break that knot. You girls inspire me for being who you are.
7. I’ve become a new resident here with my relatives in Sri Lanka. I feel as though I’m such a pain but they continue to share such love and joy with me. From following the World Cup to house decorating & divine cupcakes – it’s all good fun. Thank you for inspiring me to love my home country.
8. To see a cute store named after me was thrilling. What makes it inspiring is that is sold pretty handbags and gorgeous shoes! How can I not walk out the shop without buying a pair of Silky Black Stilettos?
9. The FIFA World Cup! So my folks have been rooting for Holland since I was a kid which has eventually led me to supporting them as well with Brazil as my 2nd fave. Watching the Holland vs Brazil QF game was insane; sitting on the edge of my seat through the 2nd half constantly texting Dadda & Mich. Lets hope they take the cup! Though t’was sad watching Ghana lose. But it’s inspiring to know this marvelous game unites the whole world!
10. Did I mention how great God is? Even if I did, I can say it again – “He rules….literally!!” I can just get so caught up, lost in thought about how faithful he is and loves us so much. It saddens me that people miss out on that love and take him for granted. All Praise & Glory to him!! You inspire me in ways unknown.
I believe not only writers and aritists need to be inspired. We all do. Look around and see what speaks to you today. Be inspired.
